Product Description

Lecture 1 (Disc 1)

Taking Your Soul to Work: Experiencing God in the Marketplace

This lecture will explore the integration of spirituality and work (business, professions, public service and volunteer service). In contrast with the dualistic approach and the compartmentalization of Sunday from Monday, a fully biblical spiritual theology will be discovered as both applied and practical. The lecture will highlight various approaches to integration, and the rich and diverse traditions of spirituality in the history of the people of God, especially the "mixed life." Further, issues raised in the workplace such as success, failure, ambition and creativity will be seen as opportunities to become a deeper person and to grow in faith, demonstrating the journey inward and the journey outward are interdependent.

Lecture 2 (Disc 2)

Breaking the Myth of Work-Life Balance: Living an Unbalanced Life Graciously

Busyness is pathological in our fast-paced society and global marketplace. Parents feel they cannot give quantity time to their children so they try the time-saver, quality time. But they strive to hold it all together: work, family, social responsibilities and, if they are Christians, church life. Can it be done? Done as a perfectly balanced life? Examining the sources of busyness as well as the extraordinary life- pattern given to us by Jesus, we will explore another model of ˇ§keeping it all togetherˇ¨: Living the tension well.
